London, UK. Profenx today announces the launch of Total Boxing, a new talent-led media venture with one of the most respected journalists in boxing, Tris Dixon.
Tris is the former editor of Boxing News and has covered the sport for more than two decades. He was the ghostwriter for Ricky Hatton’s bestselling autobiography, War and Peace, and went on to write The Road to Nowhere: A Journey Through Boxing’s Wastelands, Money: The Life and Fast Times of Floyd Mayweather, Damage: The Untold Story of Brain Trauma in Boxing and Warrior: A Champion’s Incredible Search for His Identity.
He has worked as a pundit for Sky Sports, CNN, BT Sport, Sky News and other mainstream outlets and has been ringside at major fights on both sides of the Atlantic since 2000, covering the sport on four continents and in more than a dozen countries. His journalism has won numerous BWAA awards, and his books have been short-listed for awards by William Hill, The Daily Telegraph and The Sunday Times.
Total Boxing will bring Tris’s experience and expertise directly to boxing fans through a combination of written journalism, video, interviews, analysis and original digital content across its website, YouTube and wider social platforms.
The venture represents a new chapter for Tris, allowing him to build an independent global media brand around his knowledge of the sport, while working with Profenx to drive growth and scale through content distribution, audience engagement and revenue development across the digital spectrum.
Total Boxing is the latest venture in Profenx’s strategy to partner with established talent and build media businesses around the people audiences trust and want to hear from.
Rather than starting with a traditional publication and building a personality around it, Profenx is taking the opposite approach, putting the talent, their expertise and their relationship with an audience at the heart of the brand.
Profenx’s Martin Crawford said:
“We believe audiences increasingly want to hear from people they trust. Expertise, personality and authenticity are becoming every bit as important as the publication or platform delivering the content.
That is at the heart of what we are building at Profenx. We partner with exceptional talent and give them the support, technology and commercial capability to build something around their own voice and expertise.
Tris is a fantastic example of that. His standing in boxing speaks for itself. He has an extraordinary depth of knowledge, years of experience and a credibility that you simply cannot manufacture.
What makes Total Boxing exciting is the opportunity to take all of that and build a modern, independent media brand around it. Tris knows boxing inside out, understands the stories fans care about and has a wealth of experience that gives the brand a really strong foundation.
We’re delighted to be working with him and believe Total Boxing has the potential to become a significant destination for boxing fans.”
Tris Dixon said:
“I’m delighted to launch Total Boxing and excited to build something new around the sport I’ve covered throughout my career.
I’ve been fortunate to experience some of boxing’s biggest nights and work with some of the sport’s biggest names, and I want to bring that knowledge and experience to Total Boxing.
Boxing media is evolving quickly, and this gives us a great opportunity to create a modern, independent brand that delivers the news, insight and stories fans care about.
I’m really excited to be working with Profenx and can’t wait to see what we can build together.”
